Hi, I'm Samii and I am a qualified yoga instructor who has been teaching for just over 7 years. I started my personal practice back in 2012 when I was looking for something different to keep me fit after years as a dancer, but after the first few months the mental benefits of the practice began to far outweigh the physical benefits. The effects that yoga had on my mental health, my mood and my overall outlook on life were what had me hooked. Just learning how to truly breathe and noticing how I was able to shift and control my energy felt so empowering. So naturally the next step was wanting to learn as much as I could through doing my teacher training in 2014.
After practicing at Queens of Pole now for two years, I believe yoga and pole dancing compliment each other well. They both bring a sense of strength and flexibility, but in very different ways and yoga brings this extra element of becoming conscious of your breath, learning how to harness it through the body and how to use it to calm the mind.
I am really excited to be teaching yoga at Queens, I see how hard all the beautiful Queens work and I am looking forward to adding this more restorative element to their personal practice. Plus with all the upper body strength and flexibility pole brings, there are some fun postures I am looking forward to teaching :D
