Five ways to sneakily turn the conversation to POLE

Once you start pole dancing, there is generally no turning back.

Your world starts to revolve around Pole Dancing.

All you want to do is talk about Pole Dancing.

All you do is scroll looking for Pole Dancing and Pole Dancers.

This is great for when you are at your pole studio but what about when you are in the muggle world? I’ve come up with the five best ways to ‘subtly’ change the subject to pole dancing! Waiting for a break in the conversation is great but you don’t want to be ‘that person’ who can’t talk about anything else. We need to be clever so that they don’t realise they are talking about pole until its too late!

When you’re out for coffee with your muggle friends, and you want to tell them about the trick you nailed last night, there is only one way to pull it off. It’s a given that when the food comes out, someone will always say ‘how is it?’. When it’s your time to give a critique on how good or bad it is, answer with the following: “I think this taste (good/bad), but it doesn’t taste as sweet as the victory I had last night.” They will immediately want to know what happened last night and thats when you pounce. They asked to hear what happened, you didn’t bring it up. You have to be polite and tell them the story. - Success!

It’s common to be asked about how you are going with work. Most people answer with that same old, boring response. “Yeah, work is good.” We need to step it up a notch and change the subject to something a little more…”pole”. Uniforms, they are generally uncomfortable, bring that up as your starting point. As they pry further, talk about how the shoes are awful and it would be more comfortable to wear Pleasers to work. BAM! Their immediate response is “What are Pleasers?” You are now obliged to get onto the Pleasers website and start talking about all the different kinds of pleasers you can buy! - Success

Being at work is one of the most boring things any one can ever do…unless you are a pole instructor of course. All work meetings discuss the importance of supporting each other and working as a team…This is your time to shine! Interrupt your boss with a few ways on how you think the workplace can improve teamwork. Take up as much time as you can explaining the way your pole sisters support each other, supportive language and general pole ideology. No one can get mad if you are genuinely submitting ideas to help the team. Enjoy how much quicker the next team meeting goes. - Success!

One of the most unsuspecting victims will be the check out person. Every week the grocery shopping gets done, what better way to spend your time at the checkout then taking about pole dancing? As you are putting all your heavy items on the belt, secretly keep one tin in your trolley. Once the check out persons starts to scan the other tins, quickly go to hand them the tin you ‘missed’ in the trolley. ‘Accidentally’ drop the tin in front of them and exclaim ‘I should have put Dancing Dust on!’ - Immediately apologise for using a term they might not know. Explain you are a pole dancer and Dancing Dust is used for grip…from there, the world is your oyster. Talk about anything related to pole dancing. The check out person cannot stop you as they are paid to listen to customers! - Success!

There are lots of costumes involved with student Shownights. Generally really good ones too! Make sure to bank a few of these ideas in the back of your head as a pole conversation starter. One of your muggle friends will announce they are having a themed party for their birthday but they don’t know what theme to go with…and you’re in. Pick one or two ideas  from shownight to present to them. Once they thank you for your brilliant ideas, make sure to explain you didn’t come up with them. They will have no option other than to enquire as to where the ideas came from… and thats of course POLE! You’ve done it again, enjoy the next 30 minutes talking about how amazing your pole dancing show nights are! - Success

If all else fails, call one of your pole dancer friends. They will only want to talk about pole dancing too. They get it. They want it and they will probably appreciate someone else starting the Pole chat for a change!
